Mediation is another tool to help agricultural producers and natural resource managers make wise decisions. Specialty Crop Program The Wyoming Specialty Crop program through the WDA has assisted producers across the state to grow crops that don’t generally grow well in Wyoming. Through season extension efforts and other projects, this program is helping producers grow more food here in Wyoming. State Meat Program The State Meat program in WY provides licensing and inspection for meat plants to operate under three categories: state inspected, custom exempt and wild game. These meat processing facilities each have different levels of inspection based on use of the product but the goal of the WDA is to not only protect consumers through this program, but also protect producers across Wyoming by ensuring the safety of products that come through these facilities. Environmental Health like swimming pool inspection and assisting with drinking water safety is also part of this division’s duties.
